Dripping taps - Leaking shower heads

A tap can start dripping, for no apparent reason. Once it starts, no matter how much harder you turn it off, eventually the drip won't stop.

It can drive you nuts!

Usually, the cause is a worn out washer. A worn washer means water leaks out of the tap and can also leak from a shower head.

There are many types of taps and many kinds of washers. Reparing one yourself can waste so much time, just with trips to the hardware store exchanging incorrect washers, until you finally get the right ones that fit.

We've heard every excuse...

My boyfriend/husband/partner is a lazy bum...and wouldn't recognise a spanner if it hit him on the head.

Freddie is a qualified plumber. He also happens to be Swedish.

He arrived in Australia from England as a skilled migrant. He likes plumbing, even though he’s also University-educated.

We know what you’re thinking… “Why is a Uni grad paying the bills as a plumber?”.

Don’t worry, we ask Freddie that exact same question on a fairly regular basis. His reply is that he may be Swedish, but that doesn’t mean he necessarily knows how to do massage. Fair call!

If the truth be known, he’s a friendly fellow and enjoys doing house calls, sipping coffee, having a chat, and generally goofing around, much more than being chained to a desk in a dull office.
